THE ALGORITHM IS A BATTLEFIELD. SECURE YOUR TERRITORY.

The skirmish for visibility on LinkedIn is not won by chance, but by discipline and data. For too long, many of us have fought blind, firing content into the void. That ends now. I have secured the intelligence, the latest data-backed findings on how the LinkedIn algorithm functions, sourced from the crucial research by AuthoredUp on the 2025 algorithm changes (you can find the full intelligence report here: https://authoredup.com/blog/linkedin-algorithm). The mandate for action is clear. This is not soft advice; this is a declaration of strategy for the next six months.

The Strategy: Strike Where It Matters

My execution plan is founded on these brutal truths from the research:

  1. Adopt the Pike and the Shield: The data shows two content formats dominate the field. Polls (the pike) have reclaimed the highest reach multiplier. They demand immediate, low-effort engagement. Close behind are Documents (carousels/slide decks, the shield). These formats force dwell time and deliver knowledge—they are the structures that hold the line. Text alone, the lowest performer, must be used with precision, not as a crutch.

  2. Fight for the 'Save' Victory: A like is a nod. A comment is a word. But a Save is a testament of value. The research is unequivocal: one Save delivers five times the reach of a single Like. We must stop creating content that is merely scrolled past. Every post must teach, clarify, or break down a concept so thoroughly that the user feels compelled to keep it. The Save button is our victory banner.

  3. Engineer the Discussion: Reach is fueled by discussion, but not just the one started by the initial post. Indirect comments, replies to other comments, are a 2.4x force multiplier. Our objective is to write posts that incite genuine debate, stepping back to let the conversation among the ranks flourish.

  4. Discipline of Form: Our content must be consumable on the march. Posts must be concise (800-1000 characters), written at a simple reading level, and structured with short, four-line paragraphs separated by white space. A wall of text is a sign of undisciplined thought and will be ignored. Clarity is speed.

  5. Quarantine the External Link: Direct links wound reach. If you must send the reader from our territory, do so with cunning. The link belongs in the first comment, or it must be added only after initial engagement has secured the post's place in the feed. Never sacrifice initial distribution for a premature click.

  6. After the Charge: The battle does not end with publication. The moment a post is live, I will immediately engage with five other posts in my network. This signals activity and commitment to the platform.

The Six-Month Campaign

The time for hesitation is over. I am immediately integrating this new intelligence into my daily content creation. This shift in strategy is not a test; it is the new doctrine.

In six months, I will return to this post with the outcome of this campaign. We will measure the results—reach, engagement rate, and follower quality, to see if disciplined execution of data-backed tactics secures the dominance we seek.

The work begins now.
